Okay, this comes as a big surprise to us. While trying to locate the Superhero song from Microsoft, (sung by an Indian rock group Parikrama) I typed in "Microsoft.co.in" and reached a site with no connection to Microsoft what-so-ever; a company called eTechSupport. The domain Whois records point to:

Yeah! Thats because Microsoft can own each and every domain name!
Like yout said it wouldn't be the first time they forgot to renew their domain so go figure what happened.
